I am sitting at my desk job wishing I was at The Ridge and wondering why our house did not sale. Why is it I cannot enjoy the rest of my years spending my days making this property into the Eden in my head. Six long months our house sat on the market with limited showings and countless cleanings to make sure it was show ready. Heck, I think my job was going to be glad to see me go because I can see the disappointment in their eyes when I said I guess I am meant to work some more. Every time we go to Arkansas it is so refreshing and peaceful and away from the mundane of Monday-Friday same thing you have done for 20 plus years. While I was there, I worked in the yard, cut some limbs, picked up kindling for the outdoor fireplace, and tootled around on the golf cart. We made fires, grilled hot dogs, and added new items to the cabins we had brought down. We woke up to the fog over the river and chill in the air. As I sit here writing, my sister texts me with more info on our elderly parents. It has become apparent that they are in the stage of life where we will need to start going to office visits with them, drive them to get their groceries, and maybe even remind them to take their pills. I couldn't do that from Arkansas. Last week my youngest daughter had a gender reveal and will be having her first baby-a girl! My son will be having his second daughter a month apart. We do have so much here, and maybe in God's time he will give us a break from our regular jobs to enjoy this passion of ours, but for some reason we are meant to be here right now, at this time. So, I will stop wishing and be thankful I have a place like The Ridge to go to and that I have a place here to be with family as well.
